Philosophy

At Momenta, we provide support-based care that’s tailored to the individual in the hope of bringing wellness and lasting recovery for addiction and co-occurring mental health. Addiction is a disease, but with the right treatment and therapies, patients can truly live well.

We specialize in the treatment of women, working to provide them with female- and mindfulness-oriented care that is often missing in rehabilitation. In a safe, supportive, and tranquil environment, women can discover the power of community and build the habits that help them thrive. You can learn to live purposefully - at Momenta Center for Lasting Recovery.

Crystal Tapp, Recovery Technician "The thing I'd like to tell a potential client is that we know this is hard. The first step in reaching out takes strength and courage and continuing this journey is painful, but we want to support you and help you heal and be your beautiful self (however imperfect you are)." I grew up around the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area in California. I moved to the Roaring Fork Valley when I was 19 years old after feeling a sense of calm and peace in this area. I knew I was home in these mountains. I enjoy listening to music, walking, singing when no one's around, reading, and hiking - I go on at least one big hike a week (I aim for 10+ miles). Before coming to work for Momenta, I worked in multiple customer service jobs, the last being at the Ritz Carlton Destination Club in Aspen, CO. My never-ending fascination with mental health and my strong desire to cultivate general mental health advocacy drove me to join the team. The most meaningful skills I bring are my interpersonal skills: empathy, compassion, discernment, and an open-mind. My brief knowledge and passion in mental health and psychology allow me to fully engage in this amazing workplace.

Cheryl Cain, Admissions and Intake Coordinator "You will be able to find safety here." I grew up in St. Louis, MO --  28 years ago.  Before working for Momenta I worked for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. I have a varied background. I have done a lot in vocational areas - once was one of the top three nationwide in getting clients jobs (in Dallas) and have done outside sales in several areas - construction sales and security sales. In both I sold several millions of dollars in product and service. I taught and counseled in school settings - with preschool to college level teaching. Owned my own counseling business. Have a 40 year background in addiction education and 25 years in autism education. I am a good listener and feel they come to me to make community connections.   I believe in helping people recover their lives from consequences of addictive thinking.

Becky Gordon, Recreation Clinician I have been working in the recovery field for about 8 years at various locations throughout the valley. I have a genuine desire to help people on their journey to recovery. As a recovering addict I have been where our clients are when they first arrive and know what a battle it is. I can help guide people through my own experience and through the gifts that yoga has taught me. These two worlds combine to create a beautiful way to live and I get to share that with our clients. I continue to find and learn new ways that the body can be used as a tool in this process. Clients might seek me out for our schedule, I'm you girl for that! I began at Momenta as part of the planning process and watched this program evolve. I am honored to a part of this team and feel blessed to do what we do. Its hard to find time to rejuvenate these days! I am the proud mother to my four year old son Kaid and also my eighteen month old little girl, Journey. I have two fur babies as well. Remo is our English Mastiff and I can't forget about Turbo the cat. I enjoy taking bike rides with my family, swimming laps and just being with my kids. What I would like to tell new clients is: "It is your human right to heal and you deserve a better life. You are not alone, let us help hold you up until you are ready to do it on your own.
